HTC have bought out design firm One & Co, which helped the handset maker design both the Touch Diamond smartphone and the TouchFLO 3D interface which has graced the company’s Windows Mobile devices since.  While the acquisition obviously spells closer interaction with One & Co designers and future HTC devices, the design firm will also continue as a standalone consultancy.

Where would HTC Touch Diamond be now without the TouchFLO 3D interface? We have HTC and the designers from One & Co to thank for that and it seems that the latter will be acquired by HTC. One & Co is a design company based in San Francisco and their portofolio includes works done for Coca-Cola, Adidas, Dell or Palm.

Bonnie Cha at Crave is reporting that hot phone maker HTC has acquired the San Francisco-based design firm One & Company Design, Inc (One & Co).  One & Co is the company that worked with HTC in designing the HTC S740, HTC Touch Diamond, Touch Pro, and Touch HD.

HTC’s incredibly successful TouchFlo3D interface was created in large part by design company OneandCo. HTC has now decided to bring this expertise in-house, and has bought the company for an unspecified amount.

T-Mobile seems ready to release the American HTC Shadow II, a Windows Mobile slider meant for the mass market, rather than business customers. It Upgrade the previous model’s OS from Windows Mobile 6 to 6.1 and features WiFi-based calling and ActiveSync support.

HTC and One & Co have been collaborating since 2006, when the first plans for the making of HTC Touch Diamond were laid. Now, in order to further strengthen its position as a leader in mobile design, HTC has announced that it’s buying One & Co for an undisclosed amount of money.
