Notebook for the Week of June 30

    http://www.blog-her.com/2008/07/notebook-for-the-week-of-jun...

Thought of the minute: The blogosphere is buzzing with word that “Twitter is dead.” I’m still not seeing it. There has been more third party support for Twitter than anything out there — if it’s dead, wouldn’t there be some mass exodus? Anyway, here are my links from last week: How can I stop caring what other people think or might think of me?: I love Ask MeFi questions like this. My advice: stop hanging out at internet forums. Also, surround yourself with desperate, needy people. That should do the trick. [Ask MetaFilter] Tofu ‘may raise risk of dementia’: Conspiracy against the vegetarian community? Or just backlash against tasteless tofu? You decide! [BBC] ‘Mom must pay,’ says DOJ: I’m really sick and tired of seeing this woman get brutalized. [AlarmPress] Judge rules that YouTube must turn over the entire viewing history for every user: The biggest story from last week and probably the most scary. I don’t think our government’s going to be satisfied until we’re all running around naked and living in glass houses.[BlogsOfWar] Firefox downloads set a new record: LONG LIVE THE INTARWEB! [ReadWriteWeb] WordPress Gears: I still haven’t figured out this new feature. What is it? Why is it useful? [WordPress] ACLU and EFF sue the DOJ for info on cell phone tracking: Another article about the DOJ and privacy. I’m starting to notice a pattern. The government isn’t going to be satisfied unless we’re walking around naked and living in glass houses. [Directions Mag] Is email dead? No. Simple as that. [RWW] Getting The Facts Straight on Drug Use, Policing, Sentencing and Incarceration: More proof the war on drugs is just another way for the government to harass minorities. [Drug Law Blog] Geomicroblogging — Buzzword or Reality?: Buzzword. And I’m disappointed in Slashdot for this inferior piece of journalism. [/.] The Theory of Evolution celebrates its 150th anniversary: And we’re still regressed 150 years. =P [Wired] Is a GoDaddy VP bidding against customers in domain auctions?: One of the several reasons why we left GoDaddy — questionable business practices galore. [Techdirt] Enjoy your day!
